Yes, the same headline but for different reasons. The super human efforts on Sunday at Gloucester rebounded back on the Waders last evening as two games in 48 hours took its toll. Stourbridge and a few others are the last team you would want to play under such circumstances. Only the two or three players not involved on Sunday showed a lasting energy for the 90 minutes.
It started well with the Waders showing the early attacking pace with Solomon Nwaboukei testing the keeper early on. 17 in and a corner from the right saw Stourbridge 14 Stuart Pierpoint deflect the ball into his own net. Biggleswade continued to press but with no rewards as the tired legs began to show. At the interval 1-0 was a fragile lead.
Out for the second period and Stourbridge began to play and feel that something was in the game for them. Debate the penalty, wont change the decision and Greg Mills levelled the score with a well struck spot kick. The Waders had the ball in the net within minutes only to be adjudged offside. This may have been the final straw as the home side were pushed further back with only the odd sorte upfield. On 90 a clever free kick to the right and just outside the box gave Stourbridge all 3 points with no time for the Waders to recover.
Next up Alvechurch, new visitors to the Langford Road. We will have recovered by Saturday so back to winning ways. Up the Waders.
