It was touch and go as to whether the match would go ahead as it was boggy to say the least. K/O did go ahead at midday and with just the bare 7 players available, all the boys had to be on form.
Billericay got off to a good start going ahead thanks to a great goal by Kye, beating a extremely tall Doddinghurst goalkeeper. Shortly after, however, Doddinghurst pulled a goal back with a well taken goal by the lively number 7. Billericay had several attempts blocked, with William narrowly missing from just outside the area. Everyone battled well which wasn't easy in the quagmire of a pitch.
Tommy's shots were stopped by some good defending in the second half and was very unlucky not to score.
Kye scored a second goal to make it 2-1, with another great long range effort in the top corner. Doddinghurst continued to press and only the good work of Harry, Ethan and Callum in goal stopped the home team levelling the score. (You can tell Rob didnt write the report this week !!) Callum then made a great save from a 1 on 1 with the ever pressing Doddinghurst no. 7, where he bravely came out off his line and prevented an almost certain goal. Some good passes and possesion in midfield by Theo and William contributed to Billericays 3rd goal. Kye Slotted home his third of the day to give Billericay a well desrved 3-1 victory. Well done to all the boys on what was a tough pitch to play on. Man of the match went to Kye for his 3 goals. well done.
