On the hottest September day for years the under 16's got their season underway.
We did not have to wait to long for the first goal of the season to come along when in the 9th minute, Chand weaved through the Bowers defence and slotted the ball home to make it 0:1 to the boys in blue.
Then we made the fatal error of going to sleep and Bowers levelled in the very next minute 1:1 10 minutes played.
We kept pressing and various chances went unconverted.
Until the 28th minute when some good work from Nash gave Stack a clear sight of goal and he shot making it 1:2.

Half time 1:2

Bower started the second half strongly and got rewarded int he 62nd minute with goal to level the scores at 2:2.
3 minutes later they could have took the lead but only a fine save from Clark kept it level.
The save and the shock of nearly going behind woke us up from our sleep. We pressed forward and began to look dangerous again.
Good work from Cooke presented the ball to Nash whoose shot was well saved only for the rebound to fall at the feet of Heanue who planted it in the back of the net to give us back the lead.
72 minutes 2:3 to Billericay Town.
We really began to dominate now and 3 minutes later a Heanue cross was headed on by Nash to Rogers to finish with a great strike to make it 2:4.
The new squad will take a time to gel, but this was a great start and a real squad effort; well done lads.
