WHAT A SEASON!!

Promotion back in May 2014 to the Notts Senior League senior division was well deserved and we set ourselves a top 8 target for this season. What transpired was even greater with a top 5 finish and looking back at the games that we lost, it was only Wollaton FC away in November who turned us over and apart from that it was a case of 'if only'.

It has been a truly fantastic season and we have put ourselves on the map as a top team in this division and we look forward with extreme confidence

THE LEAGUE

Stats

Played 30 Won 18 Drew 6 Lost 6 Goal for 60 Against 25 Points 60

25 points were picked up in the first 15 games and 35 in the last 15 and this coincided with 8 successive clean sheets in the last 8 games which is some achievement and something that the whole squad can be very proud of. Highlights were the away victory at Selston FC and the home victory against West Bridgford FC when they were pushing for the title and each and every player can be very proud of their achievements this year.

Top goal scorer

Ed Hodgson 14 Nick Gammon 9 Tom Spencer 9

Every squad member apart from Charlie (keeper) and Tom Hardy ( defender) netted this year. Tommy, don't worry about this as you were an ever present in a defence that conceded only 25 goals in 30 games mate. Best goal of the season was Jay Archers strike at Selston FC after great build up although Tom Spencer ran him close with a great strike against Wollaton at home this year and Ed Hodgson's great finish against boots FC at Butt field last month.

THE GROUNDHOP GAME

387 people turned up at Butt Field for a 10.10am kick off against Ruddington FC in the annual groundhopper's weekend game and saw a thoroughly entertaining 0-0 draw. The organisation both on and off the field was fantastic and it was a proud occasion to see so many people down at the game and Bingham Town FC and Butt Field Sports club can be extremely proud with their contribution to this event.

THE CUPS

A disappointing year in both cups as we went out early to Teversal reserves FC in the county Cup and Ruddington FC in the league cup. this is something we will address this year because good cup runs are very important.

THE MANAGEMENT

Chris North has managed the side superbly this year assisted by Mike Spencer, Jason Baxter and Mark Boyes. The aim is to progress each year and we will continue to do so. Jeff Woolley has been a super secretary for us once again and his organisation is very much appreciated. thanks Jeff

AND FINALLY THE SUPPORT!!

What can we say, our supporters throughout his season and every season have been absolutely fantastic and it goes to show the great bonding that we have as a football club as they follow us all over the county come rain or shine. It is not being disrespectful to other clubs but ours are the best in the league by far and without them we would be a shadow of the organisation that we are. We thank each and every one of you ( too many to mention individually but you know who you are) and we hope that you continue to follow your team in the years to come.

Here's to a great presentation evening on the 6th June and then after a few weeks rest we will start all over again.

Well done one and all
