Birkmyre P5s won two hard fought matches against a well drilled and hard working Whitecraigs team at Birkmyre Park.

This was an impressive display from the boys who all worked hard for each other and stuck to their defensive duties deligently. The rucking which we have been working on the past couple of weeks was key to both victories and the boys can take pride in outscoring a Whitecraigs team who never let their heads go down and were a constant threat with ball in hand.

Special mention must go to Blair McCormick and Samuel Riis for some great rucking and crunching tackles in defence, to Gregor Ross for having the presence of mind to drag three Whitecraigs defenders over the line and still touch down, and to the Ruari Johnson/Harris Miller double act which featured some great first phase ball and brilliant support running to finish off what was undoubtedly the try of the match.

Man of the match must however go to Jack Patton who scored his first competitive try for the team and enjoyed it so much he helped himself to hat-trick.

Very well done to all.
