Two games in 2 weeks is a bit of a novelty at the moment but thankfully this is what we managed.

After shaking off the rust in last weeks game gainst Hyndland we managed to improve on our performance in a game which is never easy.
Bishopton are traditionally a very competitive team and a win against them is something which can never be taken for granted.
An early try from Calum helped to steady the nerves however Bishopton soon equalised.
Birkmyre had a young team out who were keen to run with the ball and it was not long before tries started to appear. In the end 10 tries were scored in all from Calum (the new try king who scored 2) Gregor with 2 and two debut tries from big Matthew Simpson who improves with every game. Single tries were scored by James, Derek, Andy Hardie and Martin in his first game. Derek added 4 conversions.
A lot of players put their hands up for Birkmyre player of the match especially the try scorers. However it was decided that the award should go to Duncan Fletcher who covered a lot of ground and worked tirelessly in the loose.
Next week we have a break due to the international weekend but training takes place as normal. Next game is v Glasgow Eeast away on the 16th.
Interesting point of note on the day was the presence of our esteemed president Wallace Muir only 2 days after a serious knee operation. To celebrate he bought the entire touchline some beers. However it seems he made a mistake by buying alcohol free beer by mistake, Thanks to Donald Hall for rescuing the situation.
