Despite being depleted by injury and absence, which meant some new combinations / players out of position the lads battled to a gutsy 32-24 win in an exciting game with the lead changing hands several times.
All of the players put in a great shift, but special mentions go to Harry Briggs who captained the side and scored three tries, Chris Rooney who scored a try and tackled well in his first start for the team, Jack Guthrie who had a cracking game despite sustaining hand and leg knocks, and the whole pack, who rucked hard and secured several scrums against the head.
Thanks to the supporters who travelled to Stewartry and especially to Steve Roberts whose audition for the role of team linesman went very well.
Our next match is on Sunday against Whitecraigs away (2pm KO, 1pm meet) when we hope to have all of yesterday’s players and some of those who were unavailable.
