Great Barr Secondary School has dominated the Carnegie Champion Schools Rugby League competition in Birmingham and these successes may be in part down to the England national team.

The school was recently invited to take part in an England training session at their base during the recent Four Nations tournament. Pupils were lucky enough to develop their rugby skills alongside the best players in the Country and clearly some things have rubbed off.

Great Barr have gone onto become Champions at 3 different age groups and will now progress to the regional stages of the National competition. The school have done well in previous years and with the tips gained from the England players they will no doubt be looking for more success in the future.

Birmingham Community Rugby League Coach, Russell Parker said “It was a fantastic opportunity for the pupils to train & play with the England players who were great fun and willing participants”.
