The West Midlands RL service area training is in full swing with over 40 under 13s and under 14s currently training at the development centre in Birmingham.

Nominations from schools and clubs in Telford, Wolverhampton, Birmingham and Coventry saw successful players invited to attend the 10 week Rugby League programme.

Players will now have a chance to improve their skills with a hope of gaining selection to the regions “Origin” series held later in the summer.

The service area training is already proving a success, Community Rugby League Coach Russell Parker said “the centre includes a number of players who have impressed in school fixtures and as part of the service area programme, they have now joined local clubs and are currently competing in the Midlands junior league”.
