A group of 12 members of Birstall Rugby Club cycled the 150 miles from the West to East coast of England raising money for charity.
The group started their journey in the Cumbrian town of Workington, cycling through the Lake District and over the Pennines on their way to Sunderland. Along with the help of a support team it took them two full days of cycling on the 10th and 11th of August to complete the challenge, cycling to heights of over 2000ft above sea level.
The group were raising money for both the club and Richard Englegardt, a former player who suffered life changing injuries in a Scrum just over 3 years ago whilst playing for the club.
Birstall Rugby Club had previously completed the 3 Peaks Challenge, climbing the 3 highest peaks in the UK in 24 hours in addition to a sponsored ‘Beard off’ in aid of the Richard Englegardt Trust.
if anyone would still like to sponsor the group then either grab one of them individually or sign up to the sheet down The Plough.
