The teams were evenly matched which made for an exciting and entertaining game. Reece Ripley was first to put points on the board for the Vic and a second try soon followed after MOM Sam Hartley narrowly beat the Sharks defence over the try line to touchdown for his first of two tries from a well-placed Harry Copley kick. However, despite a great defensive effort from the team - in particular Robson Stevens, Sam Brackley and Top Tacker Caitlin Beevers the Vic went in to half-time one try behind.

Birstall came out the slightly stronger side in the second half and within minutes they reduced the deficit when Leon Grayshon powered through the Sharks solid defence to score out wide. The Vic’s other try scorer and Parent’s MOM Joshua Beevers displayed fancy foot work and blistering speed, racing well clear of the Sharks defence to score a full length of the field try.

Sean Lawes had yet another outstanding game in both attack and defence, supported well by Edward Flexney who had his best game to date. The opposition MOM this week was rewarded to Harry Copley for another good all round performance.
