Under12's 2011-2012 Season
This season we have seen a big change in our team < we have gone from talented individuals to become a competitive rugby team.
Aims for the season
Alongside these aims we given our selves as coaches/manager goals we wanted to achieve
To have a disciplined team that is created by players own standards
create a positive approach to coaching and managing our team
how we play is more important than result
Player numbers
The season started with a few new recruits mainly from St Johns school as the season developed we gained more as players brought along mates. At season end we have twenty regulars and a couple of fringe players who aren't so committed.
Training
We have had constant numbers thought the season and early on we introduced wed night training where the numbers are normally slightly higher. Bad weather and Sunday mornings for this age of player is a factor when numbers are reduced.
Games Summery
Apart from festivals results have mainly gone our way only loosing twice Mowden Park and Yarm. The Mowden game was a swamp and the lads lost to the cold and wet rather than any failing in their game or greater abilities that Mowden may have had. Yarm was a game that sums up our main weakness, we are slow starters they got ahead and we didn't have enough time to catch up. We play an open expansive game and that is substantiated in the amount of try s our wings and full back has scored > festivals are another matter

- Create a safe environment for kids to free to express themselves
- To gel the squad with a one team ethic
- not pigeon hole player to one position
- allow natural talent to grow
- allow time for later developers
