A difficult season which started well. Some great results and well deserved wins against teams that had been much stronger than the lads in the previous season. This included wins against Yarm, Guisborough and Consett.

The season has been a constant battle with numbers, and several games were only able to be played by either reducing the players on the field for both sides or alternatively through the sporting nature of the opposition in loaning players.

Regardless of all of these problems the lads have continued to work hard during training, and play with great heart in every match, including some tournaments where we were drawn with some very good opposition. They are all a credit to the club and their parents.

Towards the end of the season there has been an influx of new players with lots of promise. These include; Greg, Charley, Daniel and Oliver all picking up the game amazingly quickly. This should help the team to build on the last season and move on to better things.

With hard work over the summer in terms of fitness and improved aggression on the field of play this team can do great things. The more players we can bring in to add support to the great core of players we currently have can only help. So check with your mates when you start Comprehensive and bring them along.

Best wishes to Jackson who has been out of action for some of the season and we are all looking forward to his return.

Players player - Ethan Hall

Ever present, and a power house on the field, even played through his last game of the season with a broken shoulder!

Coaches player - Nathan Alderson
Made a mid-season come-back to rugby and has been a revelation. His latest diet of raw meat seems to be paying dividends in terms of his tackling game, he will take on anybody. All he needs now are plenty of thermals for the winter months!

Most improved player - Ewan Nattrass
Sometimes the quiet man of the team, but on the field he is ever present. Always supports the runners, and turns up at just the right time to help his teammates. He reads the game well and provides the necessary support at all positions. He has made a great improvement this season, keep it up Ewan!

Next years objectives,

To maintain the training with the lads over the summer and get back to Wed. Night training.
