This mid week game was fast and entertaining for the spectators with both teams going close and being thwarted by some good defending and excellent goal keeping.

The goals all came in the second half and Patchway broke through first when a Cleeve attack broke down and the a great ball was put through to Patchway striker Matthew Davies and he rounded the keeper and slotted the ball forward and Cleeve defender Ben Robinson was a whisker away from kicking it off the line.

Cleeve kept pressing and were again caught on the break when a quick cross was pounced on by Matt Davies again to make it 2 nil with 15 mins left.

Dave Lewis threw on both of his subs , Richard Barnes and Stefan Hunt and it was Stefan who scrambled the ball into the net with his first touch.

Cleeve now had the edge and Gavin Garthwaite got his first goal after returning to Cleeve when running in on the right he unleashed a powerful low shot which went straight into the corner of the net.

With minutes left Cleeve pressed but were unable to get the winning goal they deserved for their fighting spirit
