BIFC 6 - 2 Warwick Wanderers
Dr Jekyll meet Mr Hyde...
After last weeks mullering at Radford, a few wounds were licked and BIFC hosted Warwick Wanderers for our first home game of the season.
Stefan and Sheepy were both unavailable and Johnny B was late due to being unable to complete the Temple Run in time for kick off, meaning Andy Yeates and Charlie Symons made their first league starts, plus Adam "Dettori" Miles made his first start of the season.
Bishops soon fell behind to a Kurt Parsons header, Cooper left his man peel off him and he headed home well to open the scoring. After last week, i think there may have been a few bodies who were fearing the worst.
However Joey pounced from close range to bring the scores back level. This goal proved to be the catalyst that Bishops needed, as they proceeded to play some superb football from back to front. Trinder put Bishops in front, after a sweeping from defending a corner resulted in Trinder volleying across the keeper for a superb finish. Johnny made it 3 from close range shortly after and BIFC were well on top.
At half time, Bishops warned about being complacent, and for the next 15 mins or so the game settled down a little bit, with Warwick getting back into the game but without creating any clearcut chances. Jordan made it 4 to settle any nerves, after turning Joey Holland inside out.
A penalty appeal from the sidelines was waved away from the referee, Jase Holland wasn't overly happy about this and proceeded to take his anger out, knee high, on Charlie and then the ref with a few choice words. Needless to say he was shown the strawberry and Warwick played out the rest of the game with 10. Bishops used their extra man to good effect, with Johnny and Gaz Williams with his first for the club, making the game out of reach.
Warwick did get a consolation from Trav, after Joey felled Kurt in the box late on.
A great result that was thoroughly deserved.
