BIFC 0 - 1 Murphys Bar
Bish cant find the net
Murphys were the guests this week, with Bishops looking to get a run of games together.
Nath had a bad hamstring, Charlie a bad toe and Beach a bad knee. Once again, the walking wounded it seems.
Murphys took the lead early on, as Smiler played their winger on who slotted past an onrushing Nathan. After this, Bishops grew into the game and were denied an absolute stonewall penalty, when Johnny was upended in the box thigh high. The Murphys players set up thinking a penalty had been awarded, as did our lads but the ref had actually called it a dive. Un believable.
After this, the Murphys keeper made a few very good saves either on his line or using his box. An equaliser seemed only minutes away.
Simmo had to be replaced with a bad ankle, so Stefan came on in his place just before half time.
As half time came and went, it seemed likely that Bishops would get the next goal, however for all our huffing and puffing, we couldn't find a way through the Murphys defence. A couple more good stops from their keeper kept us at bay, and the scoreline remained 1-0 til the final whistle. A smash and grab job someone called it, but fair play to Murphys, they worked hard for their clean sheet and win and proved difficult to beat on the day.
