BIFC 3 - 2 Mid-Warwickshire Police
Late winner seals the points
This was a typical Sunday Morning fixture. Saturday night drop outs, one turning up then went home, marking the pitch out being followed by a drone....
With all the usual Sunday Morning chaos, Bishops lined up v Police looking to get some much needed points on the board.
A steady start by both teams, saw little goalmouth action. Joey headed over from a Smiler cross, but nothing was troubling their keeper.
Bishops forced a couple of corners, Peanut's header was tipped over the bar for another corner of which Smiler nodded home.
Police caught Bishops on the counter soon after down the right, when a cross was tapped home from close range.
The game continued to be quite scrappy in general, with the pitch beginning to take its toll.
Half time came and went, and Bishops began to turn the screw in the second half without finding the net.
Police did have a spell, which is always expected but likewise didn't trouble Nathan in goal. Bishops took the lead again, when Jonny Byrne had sobered up and made his way into the Police area, and crossed for Smiler to double his tally. With less than 10 mins to go, a Police corner saw the ball scramble around and was headed into the net to pull the game back to 2-2. With the game looking like it was going to finish 2-2, Turts defied logic and his teammates in the box by sticking it in the top corner to seal the win with 3 minutes to go.
Good to have a league game for once and get the 3 points we deserved.
