Can you help by volunteering on Day 2 of the Kia Oval Test on Sat 16th August between England & India?

The Cricket Foundation, is a charity which oversees the Chance to Shine campaign which helps to provide children in state schools the opportunity to play and benefit from the game.

BSCC is a supporter of the Chance to Shine programme and wishes to draw your attention to Cricket United Day which is taking place at the Kia Oval on Saturday 16th August, day 2 of the final Investec Test between England and India.

Cricket United sees Chance to Shine team up with the Lord’s Taverners and the PCA Benevolent Fund to hold the UK’s biggest cricket awareness and fundraising day, by turning the ground blue.

More information can be found at www.cricketunited.co.uk.

Following the success of last year’s inaugural Cricket United Day, which saw over £50,000 raised, The Cricket Foundation has decided to hold the day again this year with the aim of making the day even bigger and bluer!

In order to help raise funds for the day, they require the help of an enthusiastic team of volunteers and this is where you are able to help?

There are some extra volunteer spaces for the day and we have been asked whether there are any Bishop's Stortford CC members who would be interested in volunteering?

Volunteers will be helping to raise funds by distributing t-shirts and selling raffle tickets to spectators around the ground. This will mostly take place during the intervals in the day’s play, which will allow volunteers to watch some of the day’s play during their rest periods as England will hopefully be trying to win the series.

The only restriction for volunteers is that they need to be over the age of 18.

If there is anyone who would be interest in volunteering for the day, please contact Simon Rossetter at The Cricket Foundation at simon.roissetter@cricketfoundation.org.uk or 07827 980 925.

Thank you for your time and for your support of Chance to Shine.
