The spoils were finally shared in a disjointed and ill tempered game on Sunday afternoon at Silver Leys in the Herts Middlesex league Colts division one.
The home side started brightly and flanker Alex Walsh was the last player to have his hands on the Stortford pack drove over the Middlesex team’s line from a line out.
Despite having had a first player yellow carded Ruislip responded with a try of their own 10 minutes before the break when the poor home defence was pierced by a simple passing move.
At half time the score was 5 points all. However immediately from the restart Ruislip took the lead primarily once gain due to weak tackling by Stortford which allowed them to touch down close to the side line.
Stortford failed to capitalise when a second visiting player was sin binned but thanks to a barnstorming run from Stortford No 8 Max Hammond they drew level with less than 10 minutes to play.
Ruislip survived having a 3rd player sent to the touchline 2 minutes before the final whistle to hold out for the draw.
