BSRFC U17s - England Academy Success
The successful squad of last year continues to gain National recognition with the inclusion of two players in the National Academy squads for the coming season.
Sam James continues his march to the top having been named in the U18 Academy squad a year in advance, whilst Josh Sharp, brother of Saracen’s Jake, has been included in the England U17 squad. Congratulations to them both.
These fantastic honours come off the back of an injury-littered summer for the current U17s – with 5 of the Saracens Academy players from the club all currently ‘off games’ with leg injuries. Despite these absentees, the age group has started this year’s campaign in imperious form. Ruislip, newly promoted to the U17 1st Division, were dismayed to hear that they had conceded 50 points to a team short of 7 of the regular team including 3 England players. At the same time the B team have registered an fantastic unbeaten start in the competitive Division 2 with a win and a draw in their first two outings.
