Touch Rugby – Summer Activities

Touch Rugby doesn’t follow a season so we ‘keep going’ all year round

“Touch Rugby - Fast and Fun”

Touch Rugby a specific version of the sport with its own rules, playing conditions and playing style. We are an all-inclusive group and welcome all players any age, any fitness, no rugby experience required. Touch Rugby doesn’t follow a season so we ‘keep going’ all year round.
We are happy to welcome anyone wishing to play over the summer especially those from the senior rugby sides as long as you are willing to conform to the style and rules of Touch, we also have a summer offer for those wishing to play.

Time: 7.30 pm, Wed nights, followed by a drink at the bar.
7.30 – 8.00: Specific touch skills/warm up
8.00 – Sundown, usually 20 min games (10 min halfs), refereed.
Note: we are space limited in the summer so have to run teams with subs or playing in alternate games.
Location: 3rd Team pitch, Paddock or ‘somewhere’ at BSRFC.

Touch Group:
All the touch group have paid £25 on top of their BSRFC membership to be members of the Touch Group. We have a special offer for the summer of a £10 fee to play throughout the summer until Sept, all monies raised goes to club membership.
Joining conditions:
1. BSRFC Members (in any format ie playing, family, social), you cannot play without showing your membership card. Pay £10 for the summer.
2. Non BSRFC members, complete application form, first week taster session free, £10 for Touch membership for the summer (until Sept)
3. All Touch players need to familiarise themselves and comply with the rules and conditions of Touch Rugby.

Summary of Touch Focus:
There are specific elements of the game that we are concentrating on learning/improving and we are happy to demonstrate these to all and we strongly encourage all players to incorporate them into the game. The core group of Touch players want to improve these skills for Tournaments and Friendlies, as teams well drilled in the basics can dominate in competition.
