Following the success of our family funday celebrating the Webb Ellis Cup coming to Silver Leys 2 years ago, this Summer with have another event planned to support Perry’s President’s Charity – Ellie’s Fund.
In a similar vein to the Touch Rugby match of 2015 we are aiming to put on another mass participation event - a “Team Marathon” we have named “Ellie’s Run”. Each participating team will consist of up to 26 people running, walking or crawling round a one mile circuit of the club grounds in a relay race until the team has completed the 26 miles of a Marathon. We envisage that teams would be 26 people running 1 mile each however it could be a team of 2 people running 13 miles each or anything in between.
Each participant will be required to pay a £10 donation to Ellie’s Fund to take part in the run.
It is our hope that each age group / section in the club will be able to provide a team to take part in the run and that they and their families will come to the club for the afternoon to enjoy a family day in the same spirit of the World Cup event in 2015.
Ellie’s Run will take place on the afternoon of 3rd June and we will send out further details nearer the time but at this stage this is a “save the date” notification.
