Swifts 1st team moved up to 2nd in the EOFL Premier Division with an excellent home win over Champions Kelvedon Hatch. A 25 yd strike from Tom Prendergast after 18 minutes gave Swifts a 1-0 lead at half time. On the hour new signing Rob Whitnells bullet header from a Samways corner made it 2-0. Kelvedon pulled one back with 10 minutes to go but their joy was shortlived as Clinton Mongwele sealed all 3 points with 5 minutes remaining, for an excellent 3-1 victory. Despite leading Swifts reserves went down 3-1 away at Cuffley in the County Cup, Josh Daniel the Swifts scorer. The same fate befell the Sunday side, with several non attendees, who despite leading, also lost 3-2 at home in the County Cup to Grange Utd, goals from Billy Turner and James Huntly. Both sides will be looking to get their league ambitions back on track in the next matches.
