Swifts made a very positive start to the game today taking the game to their hosts creating a couple of decent half chances but not putting them away , Kelvedon came into the game themselves and likewise had a couple of decent chances with excellent defending and a smart save from Brad Simpson keeping the score at nil , Swifts took the lead on around the 20 minute mark when Gavin Cockman received the ball on the left hand side of the Kelvedon box and cut across before unleashing a spectacular right foot shot that flew into the top corner of the Kelvedon net despite the best efforts of the home keeper.
Swifts then lost Dan Callaway to a thigh injury who was replaced by Sam Prendergast with Jervelle Hamilton switching to the back three , Kelvedon pulled themselves level when the unfortunate Hamilton scored in his own net , the scores were level at the interval at 1-1.
