Match Reports

Vale of Lune RUFC

In a season of firsts, the win at Warrington can be added to the list of achievements.

Vale's first ever double over Northwich helped to make it a special day but was just one sparkling jewel on a display.

Massive congratulations to all the players and coaching staff for clinching the North One West championship.

Douglas Day...

Last season’s match against the Manxmen was pivotal to Manchester’s promotion, this season it probably was again, this time to ensure consolidation in North One West.

Smash and Grab…

A strange game ended with the pack being shuffled at the bottom of North One West as Manchester failed to close out a game seemingly won at half time.

Onwards and Upwards...

Manchester picked up where they had left off a fortnight ago when taking the impressive bonus point away win at Stockport. By the end of the game however, early promise had turned to frustration.

Stockport RUFC

Sackville-West gets 3 tries as Stockport complete home fixtures with 38-31 local derby win against Burnage.

In perfect conditions and with two sides committed to playing open attacking rugby this was an excellent match to complete Stockport’s home fixtures for the season.

Despite forward dominance Stockport narrowly lose away 28-24 to Northwich

Some good driving play provided many chances to score but Stockport were judged to have been held up over the line on 4 occasions. Northwich get 3 lucky tries to secure win.

League leaders prove too strong for improving Stockport

Stockport played some good rugby, despite being reduced to 14 for most of the second half and conceding 10 tries to 3.
