Well what a final week! Huge scores in all 3 games and this meant some even bigger scores in our prediction league as no one could have predicted such a free scoring conclusion to the 6 Nations. The high scores saw some unprecedented leaps in places in the overall standings.

First, as usual, we will address the weekly winner. This year so far the highest weekly winning total has been 24, this week it was just short of 40 points more, however this still appeared a great score compared to many others, as only the top 9 managed to score less than 100! The winner this week is new to the league this year, so congratulations to John Rawson you had a comfortable 8 point winning margin, please let me know how I can get your £10 winnings to you. Chris could have done with your score this week! Other notable mentions should go to Eric Alty and Andy Finn who came 3rd and 4th respectively, while Rick Maudsley finished second for the second week in a row and he managed to achieve a first in my memory by predicting an exact score as he predicted the Scotland v Ireland result, well done Rick. At the other end of the table Marc Maher continued his usual form and racked up an impressive score of 176.

The teams in this seasons 6 Nations totalled 660 points, yet our top 4 predictors were only separated by 3 points! Unfortunately for Chris Rawson, last week’s leader, he slipped down to third place. Another first this year is that after all these points we have a joint overall winner! The first of these just wanted to beat his brother, in doing so he managed to beat all but one other predictor, so the first of our joint winners is Nick Westhead, well done Nick, let me know how I can get your share of the winnings to you. The winner of the remaining £50 came from nowhere, normally the winner comes from the top 10 after the fourth week, however our other joint winner was in 24th place last week! The man behind this incredible leap is a 1st XV stalwart, well done Rick Maudsley a truly amazing result! To cap everything off, another 1st XV player had the unenviable honour of winning this year’s wooden spoon, sorry Marc Maher but you won this with ease.

Well that is it for this year, thank you to all who took part, hope to see you again in 2016!
