Black Country Rangers continue their good form
Pegasus Juniors 0 v 5 Black Country Rangers
After a successful 5-2 win in their first home game of the season it was yet another away trip for BCR who played their sixth away game of the season against bottom of the table Pegasus Juniors.
It was BCR who started the game on the front foot moving the ball from left to right with a midfield three of Chilton, Forrest and Taylor taking a firm control of the game. Rico Taylor came back into the BCR starting line up following an injury pre season and his first intention was to get his team moving and pushing into the final third.
It was twenty five minutes of pushing and probing from BCR with no real attempts on goal against a Pegasus side who spent all game with ten men camped inside their own half with the aim of frustrating the opposition. After thirty minutes it was the away side who finally made the break through as a fantastic lofted through ball from Kieran Clarke found Shaquille Mcdonald who finished from a tight angle on his weak foot to give him his first of the afternoon.
Just five minutes later and it was two as a fantastic inter change between the ever impressive Jamal Fuller and work horse midfielder Jason Chilton
saw Fuller released inside the box and the left back drilled his cross along the six yard area for pace machine Lewis Archer
to slide home from four yards out.
Black Country Rangers continued to dominate possession and former Tipton Town midfielder Daniel Forrest
was controlling the tempo of the game in what was probably the midfielders best game for the club this season, the width of Weller and Fuller were causing Pegasus no end of problems.
It was three just before the break when a mazy run from Chilton saw him break into the box, Chilton was challenged by the Pegasus defender and the ref awarded a penalty which the home side would probably consider harsh. Up stepped Kieran Clarke who confidentially dispatched his fourth penalty of the season.
Half time: Pegasus 0 BCR 3
The second half started similar to how the first half ended, with BCR dominating the game and forcing Pegasus to clip aimless long balls. The fourth goal almost came from an unlikely source as Matthew Vaughan
combined well with the midfield and a ball over the top found him bearing down on the keeper but a dreadful first touch took it away from the centre half who saw his chance disappear.
More chances fell to Lewis Archer
and Rico Taylor who would be disappointed not to add a goal to their tally as both players goal bound efforts were blocked by the Pegasus back line. Youngster Connor Haddlington came on for the impressive Leon Weller who seemed to be struggling with a muscle injury before former Sutton Coldfield winger Dilano Reid made the swap with Lewis Archer
who was equally looking worse for wear.
It took until the 70th minute for BCR to add to their lead when Kieran Clarke linked up with his strike partner Shaquille Mcdonald who calmly slotted home from inside the area to bring up his second for the day.
Energetic midfielder Russell Garner
came on to replace Rico Taylor who impressed everyone with his first game back since injury. Garner slotted into the midfield three and helped guide the BCR back line to their first clean sheet of the season.
Mcdonald managed to add his second hat trick in a row with just four minutes left on the clock when he pinned the Pegasus defender before spinning and firing into the bottom corner before running off to perform his trademark back flip celebration.
Just minutes before the end of the game a 22 man skirmish kicked off near the away team dugouts with Kieran Clarke apparently the instigator as the forward picked up a yellow card for his troubles.
