Black Country Rangers win second home game of the season
Black Country Rangers 3 v 1 Dudley Sports
Black Country Rangers headed into their second home game of the season against a Dudley Sports side that had started the season in impressive fashion and sat just one place behind Rangers in the WMRL table.
Rangers started the game in slow fashion as seems to be their style over the opening eight games of the season, the midfield three of Chilton,D.Reid and Taylor were all found wanting in possession but luckily for BCR the centre back pairing of Vaughan and Hammond pulled them out of trouble on a number of occasions.
It was Taylor however who conceded possession in the middle of the park before taking a petulant kick out at his opposite number, luckily for Taylor this wasn't spotted by the ref or his counterparts. Captain Vaughan managed to calm Taylor down who then started to move the ball more effectively.
The opening goal of the game came after 25 minutes when K.Clarke found S.Mcdonald outside the area and the striker placed the ball into the bottom corner to take his tally to seven goals in three games.
Mcdonald was unlucky not to add another one just five minutes later when the impressive Chilton and Fuller combined again down the left hand side before Fuller pulled it back to the former Derby hitman who's effort was fantastically tipped round the post by the Dudley Sports keeper.
Moments later another chance fell to BCR this time K.Clarke found himself just 7 yards out with the goal at his mercy before he subsequently fell over under no pressure, Clarke was visibly disappointing not to add to his six BCR goals to date.
Just seconds before the half time whistle, Chilton found himself free down the left hand side and his pinpoint cross found Mcdonald from just six yards out who's poor effort was saved down low by the keeper. The Rangers lads went into the break questioning how this game wasn't already out of reach.

The home side started the second half just how they finished the third, in total control with central midfielder Taylor showing off his quick feet and range of passing. It was however the holding midfielder Lee Smith that stole the show, Smith returned to the side following his omission from last weeks squad and the former Dudley Town captain was putting on a performance that would have impressed the scouts from Stourbridge watching forward Mcdonald.
Twenty minutes into the second half with nothing extra to note, then the heavens opened and the game changed, the flair players for BCR didn't look up to the battle of playing in the pouring rain and it was Sports who looked the more dangerous, K.Miller came on for his BCR debut in place of K.Clarke who had a poor game by his regular standards.
Dudley sports' Midfielder found himself in acres of space 25 yards out and slid a through ball between Vaughan and Hammond, Hednesford loanee Haynes saved the initial effort down loan but the sports winger beat the flat footed Fuller to the ball before firing his effort towards the top corner. S.Reid who had returned to the side following his red card against Bilston punched the ball off the line and was given his marching orders for a second time this season. Sports stepped up and calmly slotted the ball to Haynes left hand side.
A slight change of shape was in order a J.Ashful came on to plug the hole left by S.Reid meaning D.Reid was used as a makeweight, BCR rallied as the sun came back out and with 85 minutes on the clock centre back Vaughan put in a Beckham-esc cross which found the head of midfielder Smith who bundled his header home. BCR Manager Jones was given his marching orders for joining in with his teams celebrations.
Sports had two goal bound efforts saved in the top corner by Haynes who pulled off some fantastic saves throughout a dominant 20 minute period for Dudley Sports
Sports began to throw bodies forward and with just three minutes left Lewis Archer stepped off the bench to replace S.Mcdonald and within two minuets Archer used his blistering pace to race onto a through ball over the tops and slotted his finish away cool as you like from the youngster.
Dudley Sports were reduced to ten men late on when their number 11 was given a second bookable offence both for dissent.
