Kent Under 18 faced a strong and skilful Eastern Counties side on Sunday at Sidcup with five Club players in the squad. James Peat (11) takes the honours with two sharply finished tries while George Winstanley (4) emptied the tank at lock to make way for a robust Nick Packham (21) before coming back as an injury replacement. Ralph Weir (20) subbed on early at blindside and underlined his defensive contribution with a yards-out Mick the Munch tackle of dog-cowering impact. Coming on at 3, the irrepressible Jack Lloyd (19) proved just that, causing serious disruption to Eastern in the tight. All five played their part in a defensively demanding encounter where the lead changed hands five times. In the end, blessed with a cool and polished place kicker in George Montgomery (10, Skinners) Kent came away 28-24 winners
