What is the Blackheath Rugby Business Club?
The Blackheath Rugby Business Club (BRBC) is a business network group for people who don’t like traditional networking!
Why is Blackheath a good place to centre a networking group?
The BRBC utilises the fact that Blackheath FC sits at the heart of the diverse local community. Its men’s first team plays at National League 1 level, it runs numerous other senior sides, a womens team and a vibrant and highly successful mini and junior section for boys and girls. It is also the world’s oldest rugby club and has ambitious plans for the future.
For businesses, whether big or small, the platform that Blackheath FC already provides is a very attractive one, the BRBC looks to help these businesses realize the potential of the extended Blackheath rugby community.
What does a BRBC member get?
The motivations for businesses to join the BRBC are many and varied, but we spend time in understanding this basic point and then move heaven and earth to deliver on it. We call this approach “managed networking.”
What businesses are suitable?
In short, pretty much any business would benefit from being a BRBC member but those who get the most out the association are those who prioritise helping others before thinking “what’s in it for me?” This requires a longer term outlook and commitment.
What’s the format?
The BRBC meets once each month for Breakfast from 8 am till 10 am.
When does it start?
The first breakfast of the 2012/13 season will be held at Rectory Field on Thursday 27th September.
Are there any “star” speakers?
Absolutely, in fact at the first breakfast we will welcome Colin Charvis (Wales and British Lions). Colin is a fantastic speaker with a brilliant story to tell.
What does it cost?
Annual membership for 2012/13 - £250
Breakfast - £10 per person for BRBC members. Non members can attend two breakfasts at a cost of £20 per person.
If you would like to attend the first breakfast or hear more about the initiative please contact Matt Goldsmith on 07860 455811 or email him on mfgoldsmith@btinternet.com
