Match Preview Esher v Blackheath
Heathens kick off 2012 with daunting trip to Esher
Firstly I would like to wish my many regular readers a happy and prosperous New Year!!
So having eaten too much Turkey and no doubt drank far too much the players returned to training this week raring to go and ready to carry on the promising start from 2011 with a similar return in 2012.
The Heathens may want to forget December where having entered the month top of the league lost twice but despite that setback still sit 2nd in the league behind Richmond
So the Heathens New Year Resolution is to start 2012 as they did the 2011 / 2012 campaign which will not be easy as we travel to Esher on Saturday for a 2.30 kick off
The previous league meeting between these 2 sides saw Esher return from the Rectory Field with a handsome win 36 - 3 and in the process becoming the first team to beat the Haethens at home all season. We then went to Cambridge and drew 31 - 31 before losing heavily to Ealing 64-15 which was our last game before Christmas. Richmond were unable to field a team on the 17th December (rescheduled to the 28th Jan)
The referee for the match is I am not sure and the touch judges are an Esher and Blackheath sub.
The weather forecast is for sunshine with a max temperature of 8 celsius and minimum 2 celsius (at night) a 7mph wind blowing from the west, humidity 79%, pressure 1026mb and visibility good.
If you are not travelling to the game don’t forget that you cannot keep up to date with match reports (unless you send me all your mobile no.s) as I have no link to BBC Radio Kent so will not be able to provide updates.
So onto the around the grounds section where Old Albanians travel to Ealing and Cambridge entertain Rosslyn Park. .
