Match preview Heathens v Henley

Heathens looking to get back to winning ways!

Firstly I would like to start by apologising for the lack of a match report following last weeks game against Esher. For those that looked up the score under the Heathens section would have seen a 76 – 0 loss. As you can imagine it’s quite hard to write a report when there was very little to say about the Men in Black!! Just in summary we started brightly and could have led but an early penalty was missed and from then onwards it was all down hill. The Esher backs ran riot and to add insult to injury the ref blew with 10 mins left to put us all out of our misery!!!

So onto this week we entertain Henley a 2pm kick off who we beat away earlier in the season 30 – 23. Match report below.

Despite last weeks defeat we still sit second on 36 points having played 11. Richmond are top on 37 points having played 2 less games and last weeks victors Esher are third on 34 points having also played 2 less games than us.

The Heathens last win was way back on the 12th November and in the subsequent 4 games since we have lost 3 and drawn 1 so a win this weekend will hopefully restore some confidence before we take on Aylesford next week in the Kent Cup, for those interested it’s a 2pm kick off at the Rectory Field next Sunday the 22nd.

The weather forecast shows a misty start before the sunshine breaks through for kick off, the top temperature is 4 degrees, a 4mph wind from the east, humidity 83% and visibility moderate. So for those intending to come along wrap and warm!!

Around the grounds now where Old Albanians play Cambridge, Plymouth play Ealing and Rosslyn Park entertain Shelford.

I am sure the Heathens would appreciate as much support as possible as we look to bounce back to winning ways!!

Due to rotation and some players returning the Heathens squad is looking a bit stronger this week. See below.
