Murrayfield on the 22nd of April

Today the Senior club put on a fantastic display at JJ Coupar Park. The game was a big one and the guys were very welcoming and hospitable allowing the visiting team to get a few points on the board in the first half. Into the second half the boys moved into top gear and showed what they can do. The pressure was relentless and timing all to perfection so the supporters were on tender hooks to the bitter end when a hard earned try came at the last moment to seal victory.

Well done Blairgowrie Rugby Club.

A trip to Murrayfield is now booked for the 22nd of April, let us support our team and make a day of it. The Rams will be organising coaches so we can go on mass and scream the house down. Please let me know if you are interested in joining us on the coach by the end of this week, Friday the 31st I will be taking numbers to the coach companies to organise a deal. Non-members are also welcome but priority has to be with members of the club. (While the club will organise this the cost will be shared by those travelling).

Last but certainly not least the Blairgowrie Rams committee and parents have a meeting on Thursday 30th March, 7pm at the Clubhouse JJ Coupar Park. We have had fantastic support from parents. Coaches have been brilliant and I have had loads of good feedback from parents. We need to discuss organising our tournament (traditionally We have been the best club with this so need to keep this up), next years committee and support, Concussion protocol (incredibly important, the ref cannot see everything so parents on the sidelines must raise concerns).

I have said this before, you are the club and it is what you make it. We need parental support in many areas and that does not mean turning out for hours every Sunday. Finance, fixtures, sponsorship, child protection, catering, coaching and lots of helpers for home games. Committee meetings are not exclusive, please come along listen and perhaps you can help.

I was a parent on the micro sideline for 5 minutes 6 years ago. I got hooked in and have loved every minute since. I have met loads of lovely people and derived huge pleasure from watching P1/2's learn the game, gain confidence and develop life skills. The micros I started with are now P6/7's, it is amazing to see these little people learn, develop, build confidence and work together to deliver good fun games of rugby. Best of all the smiles, covered in mud, not feeling the bumps, its what keeps coaches coming back.
