This weekends Training

It may still be the Easter Holidays but after two weeks off its time to get back to put some time in before the three tournaments that we have coming up.

Carnoustie and Perth are looking to play individual teams for P1-2, P3, P4, P5. P6 and P7. We need to have a look at our resources and stream to see if we can compete equally.

Traditionally we have mixed the ages and we will do this for our own tournament on the 24th.April.

After training this weekend there will be a short meeting to formulate a plan for the tournament. We have had fantastic support from parents and the recent hosting to the Wasps and Glenrothes was a great success. Taking from that we had lots of people happy to help, where we were lacking was management and coordination. If we can formulate a plan on Sunday it will allow parents to enjoy the day and see their children play the glorious game.

To consider, Friday evening 22nd April we need to mark out the pitches, some old hand would be very useful as this is something that I have no experience of.

Catering is the big earner for us on the day and consideration needs to be given to the different aspects of this and setting up a rota so that no one gets stuck with it.

Coordination of visiting teams so that we can minimise standing around and get straight to the entertainment. Coaches will be flat out with the teams and refereeing so parents prepared to talk to visitors and share information of the tournament where to go, timing games and taking notes of the scoring would smooth the event out nicely.

We are not looking to break any records so there will be less visitors on the day than previous as the tennis club is having an opening event on the same day starting at 2.30pm.

I look forward to seeing you on Sunday. Lets make it short, sweet and productive.
