Blidworth started their season with a good win away from home at Hucknall Town`s Watnall Road Ground. A goal from Jamie Senior won the game in the 60th minute after Blidworth had been the better team creating more chances than the opposition.
Both sides started the game slowly and it took 13 minutes for the first real effort on goal with Hucknall trying from distance and then on 20 minutes testing Weston from the edge of the box.
A few minutes later saw Joseph Meehan break through midfield only to be upended by a defender bringing the first booking of the game. From the resulting free kick Hucknall`s keeper was tested for the first time by a stinging Jamie Senior free kick which was pushed away for a corner. Senior swung in the corner and Daniel Wright saw his header cleared off the line as Blidworth pushed to break the deadlock.
From another corner Gary Armstrong vollyed into the side netting and then in the 29th minute shot over when well placed. He let himself down though 10 minutes later when he was booked for throwing the ball away when given offside.
Blidworth were settling and beginning to take control when Senior controlled well in the box but shot wide. In stoppage time from a bad Hucknall goal kick Joseph Meehan went through on goal, rounded the keeper but over ran the ball and could only hit the side netting from a difficult angle.
Blidworth started better of the two teams in the second period and from a corner in the 51st minute Daniel Wright rose well to head towards goal only to see his effort hit the post. Joseph Meehan was next to threaten but shot wide after Senior had played him in.
Blidworth brought on Tom Moult for Craig Gould in the 57th minute and finally made their pressure pay 3 minutes later when a long ball from Zak Webster cleared the Hucknall defence, Jamie Senior running onto the ball he calmly lifted it over the advancing keeper into the net to make it 1-0.

On 75 minutes Keir Webster threaded the ball through to Tom Moult, Moult who rounded the keeper and shot towards goal only to see his effort cleared off the line. On 78 minutes Scott Goody replaced Gary Armstrong and got straight into the action crossing for Moult in the box who headed just wide.
On 82 minutes Hucknall created a neat move involving 4 players, they carved through the Blidworth defence but Weston in the Blidworth goal saved well with his feet when one on one. Hucknall`s defence then made a mistake letting in Moult 3 minutes later but he shot well over under pressure.
Moult was in the thick of it and on 85 minutes Senior dribbled his way through the defence finding him unmarked in the box, his low shot was well struck but the keeper managed to turn it around the post. With time running out Hucknall tried to rally but Blidworth held firm at the back and created one last chance in stoppage time with Man of the match Senior crossing to Goody who shot just wide.
