| U-Striker | vs | Boca Seniors |
Game of 2 Halves
It's a funny old game as Jimmy Greaves used to say. Boca from leading 3-0 and under very little pressure managed to lose to U-Striker 5-3.
Boca started the game on a bumpy Pollard Park pitch a little bit shakey but soon began creating chances with Christian in particular getting a grip on the game. The first goal was scored by Guillermo and from there Boca began to pile on the pressure. Christian soon found himself behind the U-Striker defence and had plenty of goal to aim at and made sure he put the ball away. Soon after, a third, with Fabian getting through in similar fashion to Christian though with more of an angle to finish from. Boca gave a way a silly goal just before half-time and the half finished with the score showing Boca leading 3-1.
The second half started much the same way as the first half had finished and hen U-Striker suddenly turned on the gas and Philip got caught out by the pace of an opponent who robbed the ball of him and then drew Scotty before slipping the ball past him into the back of the net. A few minutes later Philip got caught again, this time facing the opponent who got a fortunate bounce and broke in behind the defence before sliding the ball across the goal to a team mate who had a straight forward finish. Now it was 3-3 and Scotty was sweating that it would go into extra time which would cut into his pub time. Fabian again got behind the defence and just when he was ready to pull the trigger he was hauled down from behind. It was as blatant a penalty as you could expect but their ref decided (for his own reasons) not to blow. Soon after though a U-Striker midfielder managed to get a shot in from outside the box which Scotty got a hand to but could not prevent from going into the top corner. Boca's pain was finally at an end when Dave and Oxford were unable to match the pace of the young striker who slipped the ball in past Scotty for a 5th goal.
Bad news for Boca as they had given away a lead that they should have been able to defend which means a run now of 3 losses. The only good thing to come out of the game was that Boca are now in the Plate competition which they made the final of in 2011.

andy cheng - 1 year agoFabian was very luck for not getting injured from the sliding tackle from behind. After studying this website http://www.askasoccerreferee.com/?p=147, I think the foul should've been a penalty and a red card.
Hopefully, we will not play a game with a strongly biased referee again.Post A Comment
