~ Bethesda Ath 2 - 5 Bodedern Ath ~

It was back to the bread and butter of league action as we travelled to bottom of the table Bethesda Athletic, an easy game some might say but we had a nervy moment or two but it wouldn’t be a Boded victory without that.

A change of system to suit the massive Maes Meurig pitch and it worked a treat as we opened the home side up time after time in the 1st half but the finish was lacking, as Ryan Taylor, Matthew Jones, Gaz Wyn Roberts, Dan Owen and Jordan Taylor missed when in good positions. It was left to top scorer Matthew to open the scoring on 28 mins as Ryan ran through but the angle was tight so he came back and beat the full-back again before delivering an inch perfect cross for Matthew to finish at the back stick.
Asked not to sit on the lead we didn't, as we peppered the home goal but found the home stopper in top form.

The 2nd half started as the 1st did as Matthew hit the woodwork twice and Ryan went close again, but some last ditch defending stopped him from scoring.
The home side were awarded a harshly adjudged penalty on 54 mins and their No.9 slotted home, 1-1.
Now told to push to regain the lead, Boded were soon back in front as Matthew scored number 2 on 61 mins, then a Ryan Taylor shot was turned in by the home sides number 4 on 66 mins, 3-1 Boded.
It was 4-1 minutes later, 69th minute, as Matthew bagged his hat-trick and number 22 of the campaign, his 26th for the season.
The home sides only other attack seen them given another penalty by referee Arwel Jones, and the same Pesda No.9 bagged his second goal.
We weren't finished yet as Jordan buried number 5 into the roof of the net for 5-2.

M.O.M. – Ryan Taylor.

Another Away win and 3 points on the board and another 5 goals so we're pleased, but the lads know themselves that our finishing has to improve as we're not going to create 15-20 chances a game.
All in all a pleasing afternoon as we also had several players missing which should return next week, as we host a much improved Beaumaris Town.
