~ Cemaes Bay 3 – 3 Bodedern Ath FC ~

A perfect evening for a mid-week fixture as we travelled down the road to School Lane for our 1st derby of the new season and it was a classic.
The first 20 mins were fairly even with both sets of players matching one another, and as the half wore on Boded were finding some joy down the right flank as teenager Jordan Taylor was creating havoc at times, but on 28 mins the break-through came as a 30 yard ball in between centre half and fullback released Taylor who took it in his stride and played a measured ball to the back post and there was Bodeds number 9, Gary Jo Owen to slot home.
This seemed to wake the hosts up as they hit the bar and had the ball cleared off the line as the half drew to a close.

HT – Cemaes Bay 0 - 1 Bodedern Ath FC.

As expected Cemaes came out fighing in the 2nd half and were 2-1 up with only 10 mins of the half gone, as goals from there talisman Steve “Tyco” Mason and Tom Morton.
Cemaes had us on the ropes for a while, but we seemed to settle down and got the ball moving again and it was soon 2-2, a ball accross goal from sub Dan Owen found Gary Jo and he made no mistake.
The next 5 minutes were end to end as the Bay hit the bar for a 2nd time from the impressive Huw Torr, but it was Bodeds turn to attack, a sweeping ball from the right flank found Gary at the back post who took it down and smashed it home on his left peg for his hat-trick,his 4th in two outings, much to the delight of the away support.
The lead was short lived as a long ball caught us napping and young Taylor was adjuged to have used high feet against Torr in the box which was probably the right call by the ref and awarded the home side a penalty, and sent Taylor off for which was harsh to say the least.
Up stepped Chris Hughes to put the home side level with 10 mins remaining.
The Green Army stood firm for the remainder to gain a valuable point.
Not many sides will beat Cemaes at school lane this season and we're happy with the point.
We'll only improve as the games go on and the form of hitman Gary Jo Owen is a big positive, 3 chances and 3 goals for him tonigh.

M.O.M.- Gary Jo Owen.

Our next fixture will be at Home against Nefyn Utd on Saturday 15th August, Kick-Off 2.30pm.
