Juniors go down fighting in cup!

Llanfairpwll visited Cae Cob in the Lucas oil cup .The Juniors came close after 2 minutes as Rees headed over the bar.On 5 minutes Evans for PG struck the bar from distance.This was a sign of things to come as on 18 minutes Evans was in space to fire PG into the lead .Thomas went close on 20 minutes for the Juniors but PG from a quickly taken corner scored again through Elliot Jones.After this the Juniors gained a period of territorial pressure and on 35 minutes Allaway was upended by keeper Hughes and duly scored the penalty.On 37 minutes Allaway again went close and on 40 Hughes saved a goalwards header from Allaway.Half Time 1v2. From the kick off PG gained a free kick which Evans netted well to extend the lead however the Juniors again got the better of the possession and Allaway went close on 48 minutes as did Heyworth on 50 minutes and Iwan Thomas went close on 58 minutes however the Juniors eventually got a goal as they used the wings to good effect and Thomas slotted home from close range to close the gap. On 70 minutes Rees went close for the Juniors as his tap in was scrambled clear. Then on 72 minutes Allaway was sent clear he rounded the keeper only to see his shot hit the post and a defender again scrambled clear.Allaway went close on 78 minutes as his shot was saved by Hughes.Then both PG and the Juniors were involved in a minor incident which went out of hand and neither team can complain of the cards doled out however the Juniors were down to ten men and PG should have closed the game down however on 90 minutes the Juniors after a reshuffle scored o equalize as they again used the wings to create a chance foe Aron Owen who netted. Full Time 3v3. So both teams went into extra time the Juniors having ten men defended well but on 104 minutes conceded as a shot by Jack Davies
found the net.In the second period the Juniors attacked and from a number of long throws and corners both Mguire, Thomas and Rees went close .However PG ran out winners of a well contested match.The Juniors can rue the sending off incident as a match changer it certainly affected their attacking prowess.For PG ,Owain Davies starred with keeper Hughes but Connor Rees gained the man of the match for the Juniors.
