Bad day at the office for Juniors!

Pentraeth edge basement match!

The Juniors travelled to Pentraeth Reserves on a cold afternoon.Pentraeth started brightly playing down the sope and on 8 minutes Will Stockwell hit the post he soon latched onto another chance which he blasted over.Although the Juniors were playing neat football it all broke down in the last third but on 19 minutes Dion Jones headed wide . Bodorgan gained a foothold in the game but were restricted to long range efforts with Steven Hughes firing the best effort goalwards but keeper Walker was up to the task.On 36 minutes Robin Morris found himself in space in the penalty box and he rifled his crossshot in. Although Bodorgan huffed and puffed a reply wouldn't come.Half Time 1v0. Bodorgan opened the second half strongly but Pentraeth defended manfully on 20 minutes Dion Jones fired wide from outside the box.On 52 minutes Jason Owen strode from the back and struck a superb shot into the top corner from 30 yards. The Juniors pressed hard for a winner as Owain Rowlands and Gerwyn Williams went close but Pentraeth had a stroke of luck on 63 minutes as the Juniors keeper fumbled and the ball rolled into Chris Tuttes path and he duly scored. The Juniors laid siege to the Pentraeth goal but couldn't create a clear cut chance as the Pentraeth defence stood solid. The Juniors had several long range efforts with Elliot Patterson firing two wide Sam Hallas did likewise plus Steven Hughes. On 82 minutes the Juniors through a Sam Hallas shot struck the bar but it wasn't to be.Pentraeth earned their win because of their dogged defence and tackling whilst the Juniors played nice football but couldn't create in the final third.Although it was bonfire day this match was far from being a fire cracker maybe there were too many changes in thr Juniors line up.For Pentraeth Will Stockwell stood out and Jason Owen starred for Bodorgan.
