Juniors give good account but loose out!
Llangoed pull out stops in second half!
The Juniors travelled to Llangoed who sit on top of the league thus it was not an easy task ahead for Bodorgan as they found out after just 2 minutes as Mitchell Jones narrowly fired wide. The Juniors settled and on 7 minutes Elliot Patterson had an effort on goal which went over the bar. There was an intense midfield battle for the next twenty minutes as both teams tried to carve openings. Llangoed saw Craig Jones go close twice while Martin Byast fired over.Aaron Jones created the next opportunity for the Juniors as home keeper Rhys Owen held on to Pattersons header on 30 minutes. The Juniors with Cameron Owen and Steven Hughes creating in midfield had a period of pressure which eventually saw Luke Allaway in space and he slotted in his one on one chance to score on 35 minutes. Llangoed immediately fired back and Craig Jones came close to equalising. As the half ended the Juniora appeared to be getting stronger half time 0v1. On the restart Llangoed got into top gear quickly and the Juniors defended well as Llangoed tried to get the equaliser. On 58 minutes Llangoed got their reward as Craig Jones headed a left wing cross in. It was game on and the Juniors tried to replyas both Jason Owen went close with a header and Steven Hughes fired wide on 62 minutes.Llangoed had the bit between their teeth though and they created a neat move which slipped Craig Jones in past the offside trap and he shot past Roberts in the Juniors goal. The Juniors were far from defeated and came back gamely as Allaway fired wide on 80 minutes. The Juniors then fired over from a free kick near the Llangoed area. For the last 10 minutes the Juniors were a man down due to substitutions and injury. From the goal kick Llangoed went upfield and gained a corner and Owain Roberts popped up at the backpost to head home on 86 minutes .The Juniors tried in vain to close the gap but Llangoed ran out 3v1 winners. It was a good match and again the Bodorgan performance has risen a gear as they were trounced here previously, to a man they all shone but Cameron Owen gained man of the match and for Llangoed Craig Jones got the vote although it was also a good team performance.
