The first league match of the season saw a large crowd at Car Cob on a sunny blustery day. A lot of local interest was generated in this local derby. Pride was at stake and there had been some friendly banter and predictions before kick off. This was always going to be a tense affair and owing to the summer drought the pitch was not at its best to encourage a passing game. Initially it was Llangefni who had at least 3 guilt edged chances as long passes from Ben Wright unleashed Nathan Lewis one on one with the Bodorgan keeper. Fortunately for Bodorgan he fired wide. It was Bodorgan who struck first and into the wind playing towards the club Luke Gardner ran onto a defence spitting ball from Harry and he slotted it home from close range. Half time can after chances from both teams. Cefni crossing balls into the Bodorgan box and troubling the home side. Half time came and Bodorgan struck a second goal a nice downward header from Luke All away. Bodorgan had other chances and the contest hotted up in the middle. There was some robust challenges and then a shot rebounded into the path of Nathan Lewis who scored. The last big chance of the game saw Josh Roberts save magnificently. During the latter stages there was a couple of sending off following a poor tackle on Harry Jones and poor reactions by both teams. Although tensions were high through out and the football was robust the game ended with everybody shaking hands. This was a typical local derby, no quarter given. All the best to Cefni with their campaign.
