Tired performance frustrates Bodorgan
Bodorgan were confident of getting something from the game today but ended up disappointed. The start was bright enough with Bodorgan making several clear cut chances which they failed to convert. Luke Winter back heel saved, Luke Winter header over the bar. Luke Allaways goal bound header was well saved, a strike on goal from Aaron Jones from a free kick was gathered by the Holyhead goal keeper who looked confident. After a period of dominance Holyhead got to grips in midfield and began to feed their strikers with more time on the ball. Bodorgan really struggled after that and really it was Holyhead who had now taken control of the game after being awarded a penalty clear on goal the spot kick was converted into the corner by Owain Roberts. They had a couple more opportunities after that running past the Bodorgan back line, forcing saves from Josh Roberts in the Bodorgan goal. A disputed offside saw a Holyhead goal disallowed. It was 0v1 at the break but the way the game was progressing Bodorgan were at loggerhead about what to do to break the Holyhead youngsters stranglehold. The second half started and although Holyhead had plenty of the ball and looked a better side but they failed to create many clear goal scoring opportunities. Josh Roberts had a fairly quiet day in the Bodorgan goal. Finally, as Bodorgan pushed higher, Holyhead managed to get a through ball to Simon Davies to slot home. The Bodorgan team were devastated as this was not in their plans. Changes were made and Bodorgan managed to see more of the ball resulting in some pressure with set pieces. They failed to get any reward and were frustrated. This was a very basic performance from Bodorgan who were disappointing, by their standards, and Holyhead won the game comfortably as Bodorgan resistance was futile in the end. Bodorgan will be expecting a reaction next week v the Bulls. I am sure they will.
