Cemaes run out winners!

On a sunny cold afternoon league leaders Cemaes Bay visited Cae Cob. Both teams tried to gain the initiative in the opening minutes but on 4 minutes Cemaes scored from a corner as Dylan Jones headed home.The Juniors defence being generous as the centre back headed goalwards and unmarked. The Juniors attacked but Bay were solid and on 15 minutes Mckittirick went close for Cemaes.However on 16 minutes Dylan Jones again unmarked in the Juniors box headed home to stretch the lead. Cemaes pressed home their advantage on 18 minutes as from a quick break Whitticker tapped in a third.The Juniors lack of concentration and marking had created a huge problem however they attacked and Mguire fired wide on 24 minutes whilst Mckittirick went close for Bay on 28 minutes.On 29 minutes Rees for the Juniors fired over the crossbar on 32 minutes and Mguire fired wide again on 34 minutes.On 36 minutes Whitticker went close for Cemaes however as the half was closing the Juniors got a goal back as Rhodri Williams fired home after a corner.Half Time 1v3.The second half began with Cemaes on the front foot and on 56 minutes Tam Moreton fired home for Cemaes.The Juniors were under heavy pressure for the next ten minutes but the Juniors defence held firm.On 72 minutes a penalty award was given for hand ball against Rees which Downey for Bay stroked in.Cemaes attacked further but the Juniors defending improved until the 80th minute when Downey struck home again to score the sixth for Cemaes.The half ended with the Juniors attempting to get a further consolation goal but the Bay were strong and resolute.Full Time 1v6. Cemaes were the stronger outfit on the day and Mckittirick and Downey created well in midfield whilst Dylan Jones starred in the back and going forward.The Juniors showed spirit and gave their all to the end with Harry Jones and Griffiths showing up well as did Connor Rees.
