Anti-Bullying Policy

BRUFC ANTI-BULLYING POLICY

Bullying is the use of words or behaviour by one person with intent to cause distress or hurt to another person.

Bullying can be carried out in many ways and can be emotional, physical, racist, sexual, homophobic and verbal. Whichever form it takes it results in pain and distress to the victim. Bullying hurts and no one deserves to be a victim of bullying. Everybody has the right to be treated with respect.

At Bolton RUFC we are committed to providing a caring, friendly and safe environment for all our members so that everyone can enjoy the activities in a relaxed and secure atmosphere. Bullying of any kind is unacceptable at our club and we will respond promptly and effectively to resolve issues of bullying.

Report any incidents of bullying to the club welfare officer

The allegation of bullying behaviour will be investigated and efforts made to stop the bullying as quickly as possible

An attempt may be made to help the bully (bullies) change their behaviour through mediation

If mediation fails and the bullying continues the club will initiate disciplinary action

In cases of serious bullying the incident may be referred to the RFU and if appropriate the Police may also be consulted
