Chessington And Hook Fc 2-1 Bookham Fc

Bookham arrived at the game with a lot of changes from last years squad. With Sam Currie and Russell Haart now at Dorking,Dan Coles,Nathan Ayling,Dave Francis and Mark Jarman at Epsom,Reece Davis at South Park and Jordan Oldershaw playing against us for Chessington we welcome James King,James Duke,Joe Barkha,Lewis Chin,Nathan Oliver, Sam Pleece and Dan Ronson into the 1st team squad. Bookham started the game strong with Chin and Morally causing problems for the oppositions left side. After 20 minutes Breslin,North and Barkha played some close interplay on the edge of the box with Barkha ending up getting fouled just outside the 6 yard box. Unfortunately the chessington centre half fell awkwardly and looks to have broken his ankle.(From everyone at Bookham we wish the player all the best and the quickest of recoveries,seing that the ambulance took over an hour to get to him was very unfortunate). From the resulting penalty a confident Chin stepped up to place the ball in the bottom left and send the keeper the wrong way. As the game progressed the Bookham side with all there new faces started to get to know each other and at times looked a good outfit. With 20 minutes remaining Chessington started to come on strong and converted 2 chances from set pieces that Bookham should feel they should have done better. With the game finishing 2-1 Bookham should be positive about a new look side with a good mix of youth and experience. Next weeks friendly is away v Oakwood Fc and will be good for the management to look a bit closer at the squad.
