Vics 1 Ingles 6

After a marked improvement in recent performances and the first home win of the season last Saturday, today's heavy defeat against Ingles was as much a surprise as it was a disappointment.
Vics were already three goals down when Tristan Matthews scored for the second game in a row and things got worse in the second half with the visitors scoring three more goals and new signing Danny Myers being sent off following a second yellow card.
Vics looked effective in possession at times without ever creating any real chances but with other teams around the bottom of the league picking up points this was a genuine setback in the battle to avoid relegation.
This is a very young Vics squad with plenty of exciting attacking talent but they haven't played together for the whole season as most of their rivals have and there are still players some way short of full fitness.
The potential in this squad is clear to see but with only fourteen games remaining everything needs to come together quickly and there will certainly be some tension and excitement for the remainder of the season.
