Boston U15s 15 v Skegness U15s 0
Boston u15's travelled to Skegness.
Boston knew that it would be a battle and some reorganisation was necessary due to players being out injured. The first five minutes were scrappy and undisciplined by both teams but then the game was stopped due to an injury to the Boston forward, Marcus Gibbons, who sadly had to be taken to hospital. He was insistent that the match should continue so after a delay, the match recommenced. Boston struggled with the very physical approach of Skegness and the rucks and mauls were a bit of a lottery. The scrum was just the same but Boston stuck to their task ; fly half Ben Warren and inside centre Aaron Evison made numerous excellent tackles and Tom Wilson and Jazz Cowern assisted well. With a few minutes to go in the first half, Boston carried the ball well from the half way line, a few smart short passes by the supporting forwards, saw Jazz Cowern cross the try line to give Boston the half time lead.
It had been a battle and Boston had to organise to effectively counter the Skegness team who were pushing the laws of the game to the limit.
Second half began a little fractiously, Skegness seemed upset to be loosing. The Boston forwards continued to make the effort to counter the very physical opposition and did so effectively with John Peng , sam johnson , Charlie Porcher and Jordan Bradley never giving in. Boston managed to put the ball to good use and eventually, the full back " The Warrior " Chris Cook came into the line and scored a well created try. More forward pressure lead to a great move which began in the Boston 22m area, where they had defended a succession of Skegness attacks ; the ball was passed quickly into the backs who managed to get the ball to within 10m; it was then recycled quickly and the prop forward John Peng who was there in support, crashed over to score a try.
The final score was Boston 15 Skegness 0.
The victorious Boston team decided to make the injured Marcus Gibbons, their man of the match and the team wish him well with his recovery.
