Take care when turning right into Milking Nook Drove

On 25th March Bourne 1st XV hosted league leaders Sileby Town.

One of the visiting players in a large 4WD slowed down to turn right into the club entrance. At this point the driver of a Mondeo decided to overtake the two cars behind the 4WD and the 4WD itself. The resulting accident catapulted the 4WD backwards off the road, through the sign for the Sports Club and into the bottom of the ditch. One of the passengers, a baby, was taken to hospital as a precaution. Both cars were written off.

The club will approach the Highways Authority to see if any changes can be made around the junction. In the meantime please be aware that some drivers may not be taking due care and attention when you need to turn into the club.

We have since heard from the Sileby team that there were no serious injuries sustained in the accident. They have also praised the assistance they received from our players.
