The 2nds finally got a game in at the third time of asking as rain ruined what should have been a busy weekend for them

Rained wiped out the entire cricket program in both the Bradford League and the Craven League, and the sheer amount of rain to fall made the already rearranged cup fixture for the 2nds on Sunday a major doubt. So it proved as the rain continued to fall throughout Sunday, meaning a revised date of 8th June.

Monday brought some better weather and with it a better performance, as the seconds chased down 144 with 2 wickets to spare.
Ryan Norris, who has taken plenty of wickets in the 3rds, stepped up and carried on where he left off taking 5-22 in 9.5 overs. He was ably assisted by Hamza Iqbal (2-35) and Bradley Davis, also stepping up from the 3rd XI, taking 2-10 in his 7 overs, as Morley were dismissed for 144 inside 42 overs.
The chase got off to steady start before the introduction of form man Ben Chrispin, his 3rd fifty of the year put Bingley in the driving seat, but when he departed for 61 and the total on 94, alarm bells must have been sounding.
A couple of small partnerships ensued and it was left to young Iqbal to see the side home as he finished with a crucial 25 not out, as Bingley picked up 16 points

The 1sts couldn’t quite emulate the 2nds to get over the line on Monday.
Some tight bowling from the spin duo of Harry Smallwood (1-33) and Noman Ali (1-22) restricted Morley to just 135 in their 50 overs. Jack Hartley also bowling well at the death, picking up 3-40.
A slow start to the chase put Bingley on the back foot before Ryan Cooper added the impetus and put Bingley back in the game, but was dismissed soon after for 28. In form Dave Clow and young Patrick Dixon then added 56 for the 6th wicket and took Bingley to within 20 runs of the target, however when Dixon (24) was run out and Clow (40) adjudged LBW, the game swung once again.
Runs were hard to come by at this point and as Bingley crept towards the target, 3 wickets fell within 4 balls as Bingley slumped to 129 all out.

With only 2 of the scheduled 6 games taking place this weekend, the points are not as high as they could have been.

The MVP this week is: Ryan Norris with 104 points
